Organic Solutions was founded by Stephan Kloppert. He has always been environmentally concerned. Back in his home town in Germany he was a Green Peace sponsor, and a member of the Green movement. Stephan started worm farming eight years ago in 1999. He first came upon the idea through Koi breeding, and soon became totally hooked on promoting vermiculture. He began to read and research on the subject and gained experience in breeding worms and worm farming. Organic Solutions' aim is to introduce large-scale vermicomposting in the City of Cape Town and South Africa. The strategy is to encourage individuals to compost their own organic waste, educate the youth on the subject, promote organic farming using vermicastings, and promote the use of vermiculture in township vegetable gardens. Stephan is a fan of German soccer club Eintracht Frankfurt, and plays in his church's over 35's soccer team. He was married to a South African girl for ten years, loves braaied snoek, cooking, and all kinds of animals.

Marc Niehaus joined Organic Solutions in 2004. He is a long time friend of Stephan Kloppert and became quickly an Earthworm fanatic. He has a passion for animals and farming and strives to protect the environment. He worked as Volunteer at the Two Oceans Aquarium and at Sancob. Marc is a member of the I.F.A.W., a Volunteer Fire fighter and member of the Security team of his Church. He is involved in the building industry and as a very mechanically minded person responsible for the development, production and improvement of the Worm bins, Harvesting machines and other Equipment of Organic Solutions. In addition to that he takes care of the maintenance of the Vehicles and all Production Equipment.

His hobbies are the breeding of Koi Fish, hiking and he is a keen fisherman. Marc is married to his wife Leoni and is father to two sons, Leon and Ethan Daniel.
